History of Shathayu Clinic
Foundation to Shathayu
Shathayu Ayurveda Clinic’s legacy begins with Ayurvedacharya Siddayya Swamy, who passed down his Ayurvedic knowledge to his son, Vaidya Ramayya Swamy, also known as Vaidya Ratna. Vaidya Ratna laid the foundations of Shathayu Ayurveda in 1901 by establishing Ramayya Ayurvedic Aushadhalaya to provide affordable and effective healthcare.
He gained recognition for his unique formulations and served as a doctor to the Nizam Royal family, obtaining a trade licence from the Hyderabad Nizam Government and later from the Madras Government post-independence.
Shathayu's Vision Unveiled
Vaidya Ratna’s vision, set in 1901, was to offer holistic healing through consultations, Ayurvedic therapies, and herbal formulations, aiming to make Ayurveda a mainstream medical system without compromising its 5000-year-old fundamentals.
The legacy continued with Dr. Omkar Swamy is a modern medicine doctor influenced by his father, Vaidya Ratna. He maintained the Ayurvedic traditions and renamed the practice to “Mallinath Ayurveda.”
Birth of Brand Shathayu
Dr. Mruthyunjaya Swamy, Dr. Omkar Swamy’s son furthered the family’s Ayurvedic heritage. He, along with fellow Ayurvedic doctors, modernised the operations to meet contemporary demands, establishing Shathayu Ayurveda as a private limited company in 2010, co-directed by himself and Dr. Anitha. This marked a significant step in adapting Ayurveda to modern times while preserving its traditional values and practices.
